Why are my products not importing to Shopify?
The usual causes are a misspelled column header, an empty Handle, prices with currency symbols, TRUE/FALSE columns with other values, duplicate variants, image links that aren't public, or a file that isn't saved as UTF-8. The checker flags all of these.
Is my CSV uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read and checked by your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers.
Does a clean result guarantee the import works?
It catches the most common problems, but Shopify runs more checks during import, for example on product categories and metafields. Always preview the import in Shopify before you confirm it.
What does “Illegal quoting” mean in Shopify?
A cell contains a quote mark that isn't escaped. Wrap the cell in double quotes and double any quote marks inside it, or re-save the file from a spreadsheet app as CSV UTF-8.
